Original textile pieces and works on paper

Printmaking and textile artist

I have been printmaking and exhibiting for over twenty five years having studied at Sydney College of the Arts (Sydney University; Bachelor of Visual Arts (Hons)) and the College of Fine Arts (UNSW; Graduate Certificate).

With a life-time love of textiles my creative practice incorporates hand stitching, shibori, felting, fabric dyeing and printmaking (both paper and fabric). I often combine mediums, printing onto textiles or hand stitching into prints. I am attracted to repetition and patterns, their connection to familiarity, meditation and the repetition of daily life events. But I also like the randomness of creating with natural materials, a Japanese aesthetic, of allowing materials to show their inner beauty. My textile works utilise recycled fabrics whenever possible and always natural materials such as linen, wool, cotton or silk.I

I run printing and textile workshops on a regular basis - beginners always welcome.

My studio is based in Lake Macquarie and I travel throughout NSW to deliver workshops in the Hunter Valley, Newcastle, the Central Coast, Port Stephens, Maitland, Cessnock and Dubbo.

I was selected for the Manly Library Artists’ Book Award, was a finalist in the Silk Cut Award and my work is included in the Albury Regional Gallery collection.

If you have a question, would like to attend or organise a workshop, or commission an artwork, please contact me.
