About the Event
In this small group workshop we will be discovering the ancient craft of Wet felting wool? This wonderful and versatile craft can be used to create both beautiful and functional objects.
In this half day workshop guided by textile artist, Amanda Donohue, you'll learn new skills and take away your own unique piece that can be used to make a wall hanging, cushion cover, journal cover, coasters, needle-case, small bag or other similar items. You will learn the principles of wet felting ie how to lay out the wool tops, decorate your piece, then felt and full it.
This workshop is a great opportunity to enjoy handmade processes and have fun learning how to continue traditional crafts. Other workshops are scheduled in shashiko, shibori and fabric printing.
No experience needed.
Tickets are $18, supported by Lake Macquarie City Council, and include:
2.5 hour face to face workshop
All materials and tools including wool tops, soap, bubble wrap.
